About Michael

Michael brings over four decades of experience as a landlord advocate and residential property manager in the greater Austin area. Since 1985, he has been deeply engaged in the management of properties, serving as a property owner, real estate investor, instructor, and integral part of the day-to-day operations at Rollingwood Management, Inc.

Originally from Houston, he moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas. Since then, Michael has made Austin his home, contributing extensively to its community fabric. His philanthropic spirit shines through his volunteer work with organizations such as the Texas Special Olympics Board of Directors, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Austin, and Operation Blue Santa. Michael has also served as a former Mayor and Council Member for the City of Sunset Valley, Texas.

In addition to his professional and civic commitments, Michael finds joy in his family life. He and his wife, Carol, are proud parents to two accomplished children, Christopher, aTexas State Graduate, the Director of Property Management at Rollingwood Management, and Sarah, LMFT-A from Texas Women's University. Carol, a retired special education teacher from the Eanes Independent School District, has been Michael's partner in both life and business.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Michael leads an active lifestyle. An avid runner, snow skier, and beekeeper, he relishes every opportunity to spend quality time with his loved ones and friends. Michael and Carol are members of the Austin Ridge Bible Church, actively supporting its ministries and missions.

About Chris

Christopher, a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor's in Business Management and a specialization in Marketing, brings a wealth of expertise to the Rollingwood Management team. Beginning his journey with us as the Leasing Coordinator/Property Management Assistant in 2015, Christopher has seamlessly ascended to his current role as Director of Operations.

Christopher is a licensed Texas Real Estate agent and an esteemed member of the Austin Board of Realtors and the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM). His commitment to excellence is underscored by his acquisition of professional designations, including the TRLS (Texas Residential Leasing Specialist) designation awarded by the Texas Realtors Association in 2015 and the TRPM (Texas Residential Property Manager) designation in 2019.

Christopher's dedication extends beyond the confines of his professional endeavors. He finds genuine fulfillment in fostering client success and ensuring resident satisfaction within our properties. A true Texan at heart, Christopher was born and raised in the vibrant city of Austin. Outside the office, you can often find him exploring the great outdoors through jogging, canoeing, hiking, and biking. He also nurtures his imaginative side through science fiction novels and the soulful melodies of his trombone. And when it's time to unwind, Christopher loves the picturesque shores of Texas beaches.

Deborah Thornton | Administrative Assistant


About Deborah

Deborah's journey in real estate started in 1983 when she discovered her passion for buying and selling investment properties in Oklahoma. Deborah then obtained her real estate license and embarked on a fulfilling career in property management. Since then, she has been dedicated to serving clients with excellence and professionalism.

Upon relocating to Texas, Deborah transitioned into the role of a property manager, leveraging her experience to provide exceptional service to tenants and property owners alike. Her commitment to excellence is further exemplified by her membership in the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM). In 2017, Deborah earned the prestigious CSS® (Certified Support Staff Specialist) designation from NARPM, solidifying her expertise and dedication to her profession.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Deborah is involved in her community, having served as a Board member of various organizations, including the Boys Scouts of America Troop 146, the Austin Pregnancy Resource Center, and as a devoted Westwood High School Band Mom. Her active involvement reflects her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Deborah is a proud mother of three boys: Jason, Bradley, and Nicholas, the latter achieving the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout. Deborah is the pleasant voice you hear when you call our office, ensuring every interaction is met with professionalism and care.

Eleonora Nix | Bookkeeper


About Eleonora

From Monterrey, Mexico, Eleonora embodies a wealth of experience as a seasoned bookkeeper with over 20 years of service. With a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, where she graduated with honors, Eleonora's journey has been marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for precision.

Following her academic pursuits, Eleonora ventured into the world of event coordination, orchestrating college symposiums that brought her face-to-face with influential personalities such as Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, Margaret Thatcher, Mikhail Gorbachev, and George H. W. Bush. Her foray into customer service management with American transportation giants like Schneider National and Swift Transportation and her tenure as a product service assistant at GE equipped her with a deep understanding of client relations.

Eleonora's extensive career as a bookkeeper spans various industries, including education, religious organizations, oil and gas companies, restaurants, CPA services, and landscaping. With two decades of experience, Eleonora has honed her proficiency in financial management, consistently delivering accurate and reliable services while upholding the highest standards of integrity.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Eleonora finds joy as a mother to her two children, Carolyn and Patrick. While Carolyn pursues her studies in International Business at Texas State University, Patrick has embarked on a career at HEB (a Texas favorite). Eleonora indulges her love for travel and culinary exploration in her leisure time.

Since relocating to Austin in 2015, Eleonora has found a sense of belonging in the city's vibrant community. She enjoys the Hill Country, hiking and kayaking, and the energy of downtown Austin, particularly during events like F1 races and UT football and basketball games.

Úrsula Castañeda | Office Assistant


About Ursula

Úrsula holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Guadalajara, graduating with academic distinction. Her journey into administrative support began in 2020 while pursuing her customs and logistic services studies. Throughout her academic career, she has enriched her knowledge through various academic stays at prestigious institutions such as the Technical University of Ilmenau and the Technical University of Stuttgart, focusing on engineering, product development, and business.

Driven by a deep appreciation for multiculturalism, Úrsula embarked on an immersive language journey, spending eight months in Ireland to master English and living within diverse communities, including a Mennonite enclave. Her interests span various domains, including travel, nature exploration, gastronomy, scientific inquiry, sports, and indulging in the delights of chocolate!

At Rollingwood Management, Úrsula brings her multifaceted background and enthusiasm to her role. She is dedicated to supporting the team with efficiency, professionalism, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to Rollingwood Management's success.

Jason Whitcanack | Property Manager


About Jason

With a career spanning over a decade in residential property management, Jason brings an abundance of experience and expertise to his role. Jason embarked on his journey in property management in 2011 after obtaining his Texas real estate license in 2013, setting a solid foundation for his career. Before transitioning to property management, Jason spent two decades in the hospitality industry. Holding multiple managerial positions, Jason gained invaluable experience in customer service, operations management, and team leadership, which he integrates into his role as a Property Manager.

In 2016, Jason obtained the RMP® (Residential Management Professional) designation from the National Association of Residential Property Managers® (NARPM). This certification underscores his commitment to excellence and his dedication to upholding the highest standards in residential property management.

Outside of work, Jason finds joy in spending time with his wife, Ronda, and their four children, scattered across Texas, Illinois, and New York. Together, they share a love for travel, culinary adventures, theater performances, camping excursions, hiking trails, and scenic drives in their Jeep, with the top and doors off! Jason's multifaceted background, coupled with his passion for excellence and dedication to his team and clients, make him an invaluable asset to Rollingwood Management.

Nathan Thomas | Property Manager


About Nathan

Nathan Thomas is a licensed realtor with a rich and varied background. A graduate of Claremont University, Nathan has dedicated over a decade to the ever-evolving field of real estate and property management. Since beginning his career in 2012, he has gained extensive expertise and skillfully navigated the industry's complexities.

Outside of his professional life, Nathan is a devoted father and grandfather and an active philanthropist. He has passionately served, worked, and led in various ministries since the age of nine, making a significant impact in his community.

Nathan is also a martial arts enthusiast, holding a 5th-degree black belt in Kajukenbo. He has taught martial arts and has been honored with induction into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame. His love for humanity shines through in all aspects of his life, as he consistently strives for excellence and aims to make a positive impact wherever he goes.

Stephen Smith | Property Manager


About Stephen

Stephen Smith is a fourth-generation real estate professional, having grown up immersed and surrounded by Real Estate his entire life. With over a decade of experience in single-family residential property management industry, he has managed single-family residential properties all over the greater Austin area. In 2014 he received his Texas Real Estate License and soon after, quickly received the TRLS (Texas Residential Leasing Specialist) designation. From there he also achieved the TRPM (Texas Residential Property Manager) designation in 2019. Both of these designations are awarded by the Texas Association of Realtors.

Outside of the workplace he has loved growing up in his hometown of Austin Texas! He is often cooking new recipes, reading books, gardening, playing board games, and throwing the ball for his dog.

A proud Marine Corps veteran, Anthony embodies the values of honor, courage, and commitment both in his service to his country and in his dedication to maintaining high standards in property maintenance. His military background instills in him a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork that is reflected in his approach to every task.

Outside of work, Anthony is happily married to his lovely wife, Jennifer, and is father to their four wonderful children: Chloe, Aubree, Anthony Jr., and Dylan. Together, they enjoy spending quality time outdoors, whether it's cycling through scenic trails or cheering on their favorite football teams. Their shared love for Pacific Islander cuisine often brings family and friends together for lively barbecues and memorable gatherings.
